What Job Didn’t Have…You Have Much

For Job

    • Job didn’t have  obedient children yet he continued to be a good father for them.

He sent for them and continued to love them

Job 1:5  And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.

Do we easily give up ,when as children of God, none can separate us from His love through Christ?

Rom 8:38-39  For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

We have an everlasting Father Who will never give up on us and will continue to be a good Father to us for He is above all (Eph.4:6 ;Jas.1:17).Eph 4:6  One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

    • Job didn’t have the few sufferings and trials  that we have yet he continued to be patient

Jas 5:11  Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.

2Th 1:4  So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure:

    • Job didn’t have complete revelation in One Book yet he highly esteemed it more than material things

Job 23:12  Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.

How do you value His words compared to your material needs? Do you allow it to dwell in you richly?

Col 3:16  Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

    •  Job didn’t have the convenience of technology today yet he strive to do what is convenient in God’s eyes

He understood that what the hand of God does is worth it all than what man’s hand can accomplish(Job 2:10; 10:7; 12:9: ). What comes from God’s hand is not threatening or harming.

This world has a lot of upgrades as to system yet it is devastating at times. Do we use the advantage of today’s technology just for the convenience in this physical body?, or do we use it for the things which will concern how He will be glorified? “Php 3:12  Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. ” I am apprehended of Christ and I can never escape.

    • Job didn’t have the blessing  that we have…yet even seeing his blessings as loosing, he still continue without them.

If you can imagine, we have incomparable blessing (Rm.8:18) that even the double portion of what Job received could not match (Job 42:16-17). Job didn’t know that his substance will be returned and doubled. For you and me, we were already assured it will be given us.

2Co 8:9  For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.    Who can search the unsearchable riches (Rm.11:33;Eph.3:8) ?

    • Job didn’t have the hope that we have yet even sitting on the ashes brings a relief to him

Job 2:8  And he took him a potsherd to scrape himself withal; and he sat down among the ashes.

We, the body of Christ already sits in heavenly places in Christ and what can alter the joy of being sitted with Him?

(Eph 2:6  And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: )

    • Job didn’t have the fame that you have yet he continued to be humble

Job became the topic in one quarters in heaven (Job 1:6-12; 2:1-7) but he will never be there. The church, or the body of Christ, is famous in heavenly places because the wisdom of God will be shown to the principalities in heavenly places through us. We now serves as a testimony to angels. But, what are we doing to our testimony here on earth?

Eph 3:10  To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,

  • Job didn’t have the battle that we have yet he continued to fight not knowing who is his real enemies.

He didn’t know the wiles of the enemy but he eschewed evil (Job 1:8) , nor if there’s Satan and his plan to kill, steal and destroy him. We already know (2 Co.2:11)

Eph 6:12  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Job didn’t know if he will win against Satan, we already know that Christ triumphed over them

Col 2:15  And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. How do we accept the battle already won and how do we stand as victors in the face of trials?

  • Job didn’t have the best program  that we have from God yet he continues to play the role he has for it and never questions the Director  nor accused Him foolishly

(Job 1:22). We are in the program of Grace and remember that this is our former state in God’s eyes

Eph 2:11  Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;

Eph 2:12  That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

Eph 2:13  But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

How do we play the role He has for us in this world? We are chosen by Him and He never committed a mistake in choosing us as recipient of His salvation, of His grace, and of everything He has in store for us for being in Christ. I wonder if Job would be jealous of us if he knew of it, and imagining he will try to trade his double portions for having what we have. Hearing it from the one God showed the revelation we can hear him say it is  “unspeakable words..” (2 Co.12:4).

  • Job didn’t have elders and teachers to oversee his growth  and teach rightly dividing yet he continued to learn.

How fortunate we are that God had entrusted us with teachers not only exhorting us but praying for us and sharing their lives to us. Job in his trying moments has only miserable comforters (Job 16:2).  I have heard many such things: miserable comforters are ye all. )I believe he longs for one if there’s somebody to oversee him. What is our attitude to the teachers and elders God has entrusted unto us?

1Th 5:12-13  And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;   And to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. And be at peace among yourselves.

You could have many friendly  leaders and  individuals to lead you just concerning the things of this world yet they could just be under Satan’s program to keep your soul. Your elder’s admonition could be hard  and frank but do we have to consider them as our enemy if they are only telling us the truth (Gal.4:16)?

If we will only realize, Job didn’t have what many believers have today, but what are we doing with them? I leave it up to you.
